The End Which Finally Came

Messala, myself, and other officers find Cassius dead. This must have been part of Caesar's revenge. I know that we are defeated. There's nothing more I can do. I know what needs to happen now. I simply ask Clitus, Dardanius, and Volumnius to kill me, but they refused. The enemies approaching made me nervous so I asked them to go. I persuaded my servant Strato to hold a sword while I run into it killing myself.

Wrong Messages

I was doing a little bit of peeking. I was basically spying on Octavius's army. I needed to see their strengths and weakness's. I mean in order for me and Cassius to get ahead and defeat them we must know what to expect. I believe that Octavius's troops lack fighting spirit. I sent Messala to Cassius with a secret message. I explained that he should make a surprise attack on Octavius's army. It cant go wrong!

Meeting In Philippi

Both Cassius, myself, and our armies marched to Philippi. Before this battle began all of the commanders had a little discussion. It was basically a bunch of insults. Mark Antony and Octavius left challenging Cassius and I to battle when we dare. At that point I was very angry. I knew it was time to fight. Cassius asked me what am I gonna do if we happen to lose the battle. I told him that only cowards take suicide as the way out. Although I will never return to Rome as a captive. We said some farewells, it was the saddest thing I've done yet. We both knew that it was a huge possibility that we'd never see each other again.

My Speech

I get to the marketplace to deliver my speech, and I notice how crazy it is. I go out and I start my speech. I explain that I really didn't hate Caesar. I tried to explain that I did in fact love and respect Caesar, just that I love Rome more. I went on to explain that Caesar was too ambitious. I said how he would have enslaved his countrymen. I included that the same knife I used to kill Caesar, I will gladly use it on myself if thats what they want. They approved, like I knew they would. I figured it couldn't hurt so before I left, I told the people to stay and listen to Mark Antony's speech.

Explaining the Pain

Mark Antony's servant came to ask me if it is safe that Antony come speak with me. I figured it couldn't hurt, so i said why not. Mark Antony said that if we were gonna kill him, then to kill him then and lay him next Caesar. I reassured Antony we aren't gonna kill him. I told him that i wanted to make him one of us. Cassius even offers him a spot in the new government. He kept pushing for an answer, so i assured him that his questions will be answered. Antony then asks me for permission to take Caesar's body to the marketplace and deliver a funeral speech. i agreed even though Cassius objected. I want to deliver my speech first.

The Stabbing

We knew that Caesar wouldn't let Publius Cimber back to Rome. As me and Cassius added our pleas to let him back the other conspirators moved closer to him. I realized he really needed to go, when he said "I'm like a northern star". He thinks he is like a god or something. Then everyone started to murder him. I couldn't believe this was actually happening. I was the last one to stab Caesar. After i stabbed him, he died. It was very intense.

Friends aren't always Good

The conspirators and myself went to Caesar's on the ides of March, also the day we planned the assassination. We were all gonna walk to the Senate together. Caesar is so nice, I think im starting to feel guilty for what im going to be doing later. I just need to keep in mind its for the better of Rome. On our way out Caesar offers all of us wine. That was a kind gesture. Its sad that he thinks we are all his true friends and we're planning to kill him.
